How trade pricing works

Three components, every job:

  1. Metal cost — live, transparent, stamped on the quote.
  2. Labour — fixed, by service and complexity band, published below.
  3. Shipping — banded by destination zone and insured value.

That's it. There are no setup fees, no minimum orders, no quote fees, and no surprises at delivery. The same rate card applies whether you cast one piece a year or fifty a month — the only thing that changes with volume is the discount band.

Pricing is updated monthly, on the first working day of the month, and dated on this page. Spreads and casting fees are stable for the calendar month; metal cost moves with the daily fix.

Metal cost — how it's calculated

Metal is priced from the daily London PM fix for gold and platinum, or Comex spot for silver, converted to EUR at the daily mid-rate. We add our published spread (below) for the alloy and processing.

Metal Spread vs. fine spot Notes
18kt yellow gold (Au 750) +6,5 %/g Standard EU 75 % Au alloy.
14kt yellow gold (Au 585) +7,0 %/g EU 58,5 % Au, the volume metal.
18kt white gold (Pd-based) +9,5 %/g No-nickel palladium alloy.
14kt white gold (Pd-based) +9,8 %/g
18kt rose gold +6,8 %/g
14kt rose gold +7,2 %/g
Platinum (Pt950) +5,0 %/g Quoted distinctly, separate flask cycle.
Sterling silver (925) +14 %/g Lower headline, narrow margin per gram.

The metal-fixing date is stamped on every quote and valid for 14 days. After that, we re-quote at the new daily fix.

Customer-supplied gold: accepted on every job. We test the alloy before melt, document weight in/out, and apply a 0,3 %/g processing margin in lieu of metal markup. Adds 1–2 working days for the assay; no other change to the cycle.

Casting — fee per piece, by complexity band

The casting fee covers the bench labour from CAD-receipt through inspection and packaging. It's per piece, by complexity band:

Band Examples Fee per piece
A — Simple Plain band, plain solitaire mount, plain bezel €18
B — Standard Solitaire with shoulder details, plain halo, single-row eternity €28
C — Complex Pavé halo, hidden halo, two-tone band, signet with shallow engraving €45
D — High complexity Multi-layer halo with shoulder pavé, full-pavé eternity, deep signet engraving, pierced gallery work €68
E — Bespoke / by quote Articulated pieces, pieces over 25 g, multi-flask runs requiring custom flask layout by quote, 24h

Platinum surcharge: +30 % on the casting fee for any piece. Platinum runs on a separate flask cycle.

Multi-flask runs: 5+ identical pieces drop to band-A fee per piece (eternity-band runs, repeat solitaire mounts, etc.). The first piece is quoted on the original band, the rest on band A.

Rush surcharge: +50 % on the casting fee for confirmed 48-hour turnaround, +100 % for 24-hour. Rush availability depends on the daily flask schedule — email before confirming a rush quote so we can hold the slot.

Stone setting — per stone, by setting type

Setting is priced per stone, by setting type. Trade setting in our atelier is hand-set — Sara, our master setter, leads the bench.

Setting type Per stone (under 2,0 mm) Per stone (2,0–4,0 mm) Per stone (4,0 mm+)
4-prong €5 €7 €10
6-prong €6 €8 €12
Bezel (full) €10 €14 €20
Half-bezel €8 €11 €16
Channel €5 €7 €10
Pavé (≤1,5 mm) €4
Pavé (1,5–2,0 mm) €5
Micro-pavé (≤1,0 mm) €6
Bead / grain €5 €7
Tension setting by quote by quote by quote

Centre stones over 1,0 ct: by quote. The work is the same, but the documentation and certification handling justify a per-piece fee instead of per-stone. Typical: €60–€150 per centre stone, depending on type and certification.

Old cuts and antique stones: seat preparation by quote — old European cuts and old mine cuts often need a slightly oversized seat. We have the experience for this; it's a separately-quoted line.

Stones supplied by the customer: accepted on every job. We document weight, measurements, certification (if any), and inspect under 10× magnification before setting. No additional fee unless rework is needed.

Repair — banded per job

Repair is priced per job, with bands based on labour. We triage repairs within 48 hours and quote before starting.

Volume discounts

For trade-account holders, calendar-month aggregate piece-count across casting, setting, and finishing:

Pieces per calendar month Discount on labour Other
5–19 -3 %
20–49 -7 % Dedicated point of contact
50–99 -12 % Dedicated point of contact, queue priority
100+ -15 % Negotiated rates available, on-site visit invitation

Discount is computed at month-end on the labour line only — metal cost is not discounted. Applied as a credit on the next month's invoice for trade-account holders, or as an immediate credit on jobs in progress for cash-account customers who hit the band.

Payment terms

  • Pre-trade-account (first three jobs): payment due before dispatch. SEPA, SWIFT, or card.
  • Trade account, established: 30-day terms from invoice date. Invoices issued the day after dispatch.
  • Currencies accepted: EUR (primary), USD, GBP. EUR-equivalent is the contract currency; non-EUR settlement converts at the daily mid-rate on the invoice date.
  • VAT: EU intra-community supply is zero-rated for valid VAT-registered customers. Non-EU customers receive zero-VAT invoices with export documentation.
