This site is run by OnlyJewels BV, a Belgian company trading as Antwerp Ateliers. We collect as little data as we can get away with — none of it is sold or shared with advertisers — and the cookie banner you see on first load is a notice, not a tracking opt-in.

What we store on your device
We use localStorage — not cookies — for the essentials below. The browser keeps these on your machine; nothing is sent to our servers until you submit a form.
| Key | Why |
|---|---|
aa.prefs |
Your language and currency choice, so the site doesn't ask again on every visit. |
aa.visitor |
A random ID generated in your browser so we can correlate messages in the chat widget across page loads. Never tied to your name unless you tell us. |
aa.wishlist |
Pieces you've saved. |
aa.chat.thread |
The conversation history if you've used the chat widget. |
aa.cookieSeen |
A flag so we don't re-show this notice every page load. |
We never load third-party advertising or analytics. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Hotjar.
What we send to our systems
When you actively submit a form — a bespoke brief, a trade application, a repair ticket, a chat message, a newsletter signup — we send the form contents to our internal CRM ("SPRKS"). That payload includes:
- The form fields you filled out (name, contact details, message, etc.)
- Your language and currency at the time
- Your visitor ID (so we can group your messages)
- The page URL you submitted from
- The submission timestamp
Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6): Article 6(1)(b) — necessary for taking steps prior to entering into a contract with you (your commission, repair, or trade enquiry).
Retention: Active enquiries and orders are kept for 7 years to satisfy Belgian accounting and tax law. Cold leads (no contract concluded) are deleted after 24 months. Newsletter subscriptions stay until you unsubscribe.
Recipients: Only the OnlyJewels BV team that works on commissions, repairs, and trade. We don't sell or rent any of it.
What third parties might see
We try to keep these to the minimum needed for the site to work:
- OpenStreetMap — the map embed on
/contact.htmlonly loads after you click "Load map", and even then it's set toreferrerpolicy="no-referrer". If you never click, OSM never sees your IP. - Vercel — our hosting provider serves every page request. They log IP addresses for abuse / fraud prevention. See Vercel's privacy policy.
- WhatsApp — clicking the WhatsApp link or scanning the QR opens the WhatsApp app and sends your number to Meta as part of the chat. That's outside our control.
The country shown in the "Hi from {country}" banner comes from Vercel, our host. Vercel sees your IP address on every page request (they have to — they're serving the page) and derives a country code from it at the network edge. We surface that country code to the page so the banner can suggest the right language + currency. We do not store the country anywhere on our servers; the only persistence is a 24-hour cache in your browser's localStorage so we don't recompute on every visit. The IP itself never leaves Vercel.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold on you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten") — caveat: we have to keep records of completed orders for tax purposes.
- Restrict processing while a dispute is resolved.
- Port your data to another controller in a machine-readable format.
- Object to any processing based on our legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent for newsletter or marketing at any time.
The fastest way is the data request form — it routes straight to the privacy desk and starts the formal SLA clock (acknowledgement within 5 working days, full response within 30). Or mail info@antwerpateliers.com with "privacy" in the subject if you'd rather write to us directly.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — https://www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be) at any time.
Changes to this page
If we materially change how we handle data, this page is updated and the "Last updated" date at the top of the hero changes. There's no email notice — we don't have a list to send it to unless you've subscribed.
